The draw will be made as soon as we have sold enough tickets. We have set in the rules of the competition that we must raise a minimum of £117,000 via ticket sales. The charity must make a profit from this venture, because that’s how we help veterans after all. We know you understand this. The car will be the latest model at the time of the close of the competition. We will open a Walk In Facility with the proceeds of this competition which will assist Veterans In Crisis, on the streets or suffering the effects of PTSD, those just released from custody etc.
That’s correct. We use all of the money that is left after the purchase of the car to provide free services to Veterans of HM Armed Forces.
The law states that all of the money we raise must be used to advance the objects of our charity and we try to stick tom that in it’s purest form, so we do not employ professional fundraisers, have no expense accounts or company cars, do not take salaries or spend vast quantities on advertising.
Our organisation is run in it’s entirety by volunteers so we have very little outgoings and that is the way we like it. Of course the trustees cannot be paid either, that’s the law, so everybody here is doing it for the right reasons.
Yes. Of course. You could volunteer on the Veterans In Crisis Line, you could hold a fundraiser of any kind from home or at work, you could simply help us share what we do to everybody you know on social media or you could sign up to the Veterans’ Benefit Lottery for just £4 per month. This is a great way to help us have a stable income and allow us to be able to provide consistently good services and establish new initiatives.
It is indeed. There are several reasons we have decided to operate in this fashion. Mainly it’s because we want to answerable to nobody apart from the members and the Veterans. We can raise the money and spend it on the things that are needed. There is very little red tape and we have a donation to action rate that we believe is second to none. Action to impact is something that is also much more effective when we do not have to waste valuable time and money applying for and complying with the conditions of grants etc. Very few people realise the time and effort that is required to actually get funding and then to meet the requirements of the funder; it’s a full time job and of course if you employ somebody to do that it costs money and the other thing is …….. funding is often cut for something which is more current or topical which adversely affects the beneficiaries. We are the captain of our own ship!
If you ask us this question it is music to our ears, we want to sell the tickets as quickly as possible in order that we can award the brand new Tesla to the winner and use the money to change lives. So, if you are interested in becoming an agent for us then you can do so. We cannot pay you, but as a referral gift we will give you extra entries into the draw. All you need to do is use the links that we will share with you in the email confirming your purchase of tickets. The email contains all of the information you need and will tell you how many free tickets you are eligible to earn.
Absolutely. We are running this competition exactly the way it should be run, transparently. Somebody WILL be driving a brand new Tesla when the tickets are sold. There are no shenanigans as with some competitions, the prize will be awarded to the person whose name comes out of the hat. So we have set out at the start that we will award the prize when we have sold enough tickets. That means we guarantee the charity doesn’t lose money. Everybody wins.
We will be using the software that is provided to us by the same independent source that draws out Veterans’ Benefit Lottery. We will use the Random Number Generator to select a unique number and it will match one of the live entries belonging to one of those who purchased the ticket (or earnt that ticket from promoting the draw – see Can We Help Sell Tickets Quicker?
That’s the beauty of it, you don’t need one. We will allocate you unique numbers for every ticket you purchase or are awarded and that unique number is matched to your name and address and other contact details which will be used to contact you when the draw is made. We will also be publishing the draw live on social media, details of which will be available in the run up to the final tickets being sold.
Early birds are rewarded for their loyalty by being entered into the weekly draw which is made and some small token prizes such as PTSD Project Hoodies, Hats, Mugs etc are awarded to those who are ticket holders. It costs nothing and we automatically enter you into that draw without you needing to do a thing. We will simply post you out the gift if you win! Also if everybody waited until all of the tickets were nearly sold, we would be stuck forever! So please do your bit for the veterans who have done their bit and buy your tickets early! Thank you so much for supporting us!
